Patient Care

As part of the Musculoskeletal University Center Munich (MUM), the Institute of Musculoskeletal Medicine (IMM) participates in patient care. The Director of the Institute, Professor Eric Hesse MD/PhD, provides interdisciplinary clinical care to national and international patients with metabolic- and rare musculoskeletal diseases. The outpatient clinic is dedicated but not limited to adult patients with diseases like:

  • Primary and secondary forms of osteoporosis
  • Early onset osteoporosis
  • Hereditary forms of osteoporosis
  • Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI)
  • Short stature / skeletal dysplasia
  • Syndromal diseases with involvement of the skeletal system
  • Osteopetrosis / osteosclerosis
  • Hereditary hypophosphatemia (XLH)
  • Tumor-induced osteomalacia (TIO)
  • Paget's disease
  • Hypophosphatasia (HPP)
  • …many other rare diseases affecting the skeleton
