Highlights von der Union World Conference on Lung Health in Kopenhagen

Jährliche Konferenz der "International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease – The Union"
Mit zahlreichen Beiträgen haben Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler unseres Instituts ihre Forschung auf der Union World Conference on Lung Health 2025 einem internationalen Publikum präsentiert. Die weltweit bedeutendste Konferenz zur Lungengesundheit fand vom 18. bis 21. November 2025 im Bella Center in Kopenhagen, Dänemark, statt.

Die diesjährige Union-Konferenz beinhaltete eine Keynote des preisgekrönten, international erfolgreichen Autors, YouTubers und bekannten Stimme für Globale Gesundheit, John Green („Everything is Tuberculosis“) sowie einen besonderen Gast: Henry Reider – ein TB-Überlebender und die Inspiration für John Greens Buch.

Zahlreiche Forschende und Kooperationspartner des Instituts für Infektions- und Tropenmedizin am LMU Klinikum trugen zum Kongress bei und stellten ihre Expertise zur Tuberkulose- und Lungengesundheit u.a. in den folgenden Sitzungen vor:

Am Rande der Konferenz präsentierten Forschende des Tropeninstituts ihre Arbeiten bei verschiedenen Meetings, darunter u.a. ein Forschungstreffen der Weltgesundheitsorganisation (WHO) zu Treatment Decision Algorithms (TDAs) für Lungentuberkulose bei Kindern (Forschungsgruppe zu neuen Diagnostika für Tuberkulose bei Kindern) sowie das Jahrestreffen des TB Sequel-Projekts.
