The Master of Integrated Clinical and Community Mental Health has been implemented at Jimma University (JU) in Jimma, southwest of Ethiopia. The goal of the program is to improve psychiatric care in the countryside as well as to address research and education questions. The program is officially accepted by the Ethiopian government.

The courses apply new teaching methods and culminates with the completion of a scientific master thesis. The graduated mental health workers will spread throughout the country, work in rural health stations and academic institutions. With this program we want to achieve better access to psychiatric care for Ethiopian inhabitants.
