The Ph.D. candidate has one year after the oral defense to submit two bound statutory copies and one digital copy (PDF) of his/her Ph.D. thesis, as well as two forms for the submission of electronic theses, to the LMU university library. A guide on how to submit your statutory copies for the Ph.D. Medical Research – International Health can be downloaded here. If the statutory copies are not submitted within the year, all rights obtained by the successful completion of the thesis and the oral defense are invalid.

The Doctor's Degree is issued upon successful completion of the oral defense and submission of the statutory copies to the LMU library. It contains the date of the oral defense. Simultaneously, the Doctor's Certificate is issued. It contains the same date at the Degree, as well as the title of the thesis, the individual grades (thesis and oral defense) and the overall final grade. Please note that it is only allowed to hold the doctorate after receiving the doctoral certificate.
