Patient information
In the central emergency department at Großhadern, we provide diagnosis and treatment for acute medical emergencies and symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest and abdominal pain, dizziness, headaches and paralysis, as well as acute injuries of all degrees of severity, including serious accidents.
You can present yourself at any time in acute emergencies. Please bring your insurance card and, if available, documents about your previous medical history.
Please note that due to the wide range and varying severity of emergencies, it is not the waiting time but the medical urgency that determines the order of treatment. For non-emergency or time-critical presentations at the hospital, please contact the respective centers and polyclinics of the hospital
Directions
The central emergency room is easy to reach by car. Please follow the signs to "Klinikum der Universität" in M-Großhadern and then to "Notaufnahme". You can drive right up to the emergency room to bring patients to our emergency room without having to walk long distances. However, we ask you not to park directly in front of the emergency room, but in the designated parking lots of the hospital.
If you reach the hospital by public transport, simply follow the signs from our main entrance. Orange dots on the ground should make it easier for you to find your way quickly and easily.
Information for referring physicians, emergency services and emergency physicians
Doctors in private practice
We are available 24 hours a day for the referral or co-assessment of your emergency patients. In order to facilitate the procedures, we ask you to make an appointment by telephone if possible (phone 089 4400-44800). For an elective inpatient referral, the switchboard on 089 4400-0 will be happy to put you through to the relevant clinic/policlinic
Rescue services and emergency physicians
The Central Emergency Department works closely with the Munich Rescue Coordination Center. The rescue control center is informed online at all times by the IVENA system about treatment capacities and contacts us in the event of referrals for you. For the illnesses listed below, we ask you to register separately in advance. This enables us to provide all the necessary personnel and diagnostic requirements for optimum patient care before the patient arrives.
