How to get to us
The LMU Klinikum can be found at two locations: in Großhadern and in the city center. Here you will find helpful information on how to get here by public transport or by car and on our parking facilities.
Großhadern
Klinikum Großhadern unites all clinics under one roof. You can reach us easily by public transportation or by car. There are also plenty of paid parking spaces available at the hospital.
Public transportation
The subway line 6 to the final stop Klinikum Großhadern or the buses 56 (stop Klinikum Ost), 266, 269 and X910 (stop Klinikum Großhadern) go directly to us.
City center
The city center campus is centrally located between Sendlinger Tor and Goetheplatz. The individual clinics are located in numerous buildings. As there are few parking spaces, the best way to reach us is by public transport.
Public transportation
You can reach the Sendlinger Tor stop directly by subway lines U1, U2, U3, U6, streetcar lines 16, 17, 18, 27, 28 and bus line 62. You can also reach the Goetheplatz stop by underground lines U3 and U6 and bus line 58.
Detour at the Großhadern campus
From Thursday, March 6, 2025, the arcade connecting the subway station "Klinikum Großhadern" exit West and the main entrance of the LMU Klinikum will be completely closed.
The closure is due to tunnel work to connect the Neue Hauner and is expected to last until the end of May 2026.
The changed route is signposted on site.
Parking at the hospital
A guidance system on the clinic grounds shows you the available parking spaces. Please follow this display.
Note: Limited parking spaces available at the Großhadern site
In the first quarter of 2026, the construction of a new multi-storey parking lot in parking lot P20 at the Großhadern site will begin. During the construction period, there will be a noticeable reduction in the number of parking spaces available for employees, patients and visitors.
We recommend using alternative means of transportation if possible, in particular
- public transportation,
- bicycle or e-bike,
- P+R facilities with public transport connections.
The new building will be constructed in two phases. The aim is to maintain as much parking space as possible during the entire construction period. Parking lot P20 will be closed to visitors and patients during the construction phase, please use the other posted parking areas.
Please observe the local signage and the current notices.
