The Institute for Experimental Pneumology at the University Hospital of Munich works on translational research projects in collaboration with clinical researchers and basic researchers. It supports clinical pneumology in the implementation of the latest research findings in clinical practice. 

The focus is on chronic lung diseases, in particular

• COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)

• Interstitial Lung Diseases

• Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia
• Lung Cancer

• Advanced Chronic Lung Diseases

• Lung Transplantation

• Participation in clinical studies and registries

The Institute thus makes a significant contribution to research into lung diseases and promotes the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in pneumology.
