It is not possible to have two contracts at the same time. You have the option of interrupting your contract as a working student. To do this, you must terminate the existing contract in order to be able to complete a nursing internship after the contract ends.

Please send your application for a Voluntary Social Year (FSJ) directly to our cooperation partner Bund der Deutschen Katholischen Jugend (BDKJ) at https://fsj-münchen.de/. The allocation of FSJ positions at the LMU Klinikum is coordinated in cooperation with the BDKJ of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising and organized with the LMU Klinikum's Nursing Directorate. We have a limited contingent of FSJ positions, which are only allocated after the BDKJ has given its approval during the applicant interview. Recruitment is not possible without the approval of the BDKJ.

Tip for faster processing: make sure that the date of the whooping cough vaccination is given in the format dd.mm.yyyy and that the hepatitis B and C certificates from your family doctor are ticked. We are flexible. Anything from 1 day to several months is possible. Please let us know your preferred start and end date and we will be happy to find an assignment for you.

You can apply to us at any time. It is possible to start an internship at any time of the year after consultation with those responsible.
Your documents must be submitted in full at least 3 weeks before the start of the internship. They will be checked by our office, the HR department and the company doctor before a contract is drawn up. This takes some time due to the size of the company. Please allow for this in your application.

Are your documents complete? Great! You will receive confirmation of receipt within 24-48 hours. We will immediately get in touch with the person responsible for your desired area and give you feedback on your application within the next 10 working days.
You can first spend four weeks on a general nursing ward and then switch to one of the four areas.
The application template is available for download. Please apply for the certificate of good conduct either online at the Federal Office of Justice or in writing/in person at the registration office of your main or secondary residence. You tick point 2b on the form. The certificate of good conduct will be sent directly to our office by the authorities. You do not need to do anything else. We will inform you as soon as we have received it. You can submit the receipt for the application with your other application documents.

After completing your assignment, please request your proof by e-mail from us at bewerbung-phms@med.uni-muenchen.de. We will issue it for you and send it by post to the address given in your application. Have you moved in the meantime? Please let us know your new address. For a qualified reference, please contact your ward manager or your responsible nursing area manager.
The nursing internship at the LMU Clinic is generally offered free of charge.
The weekly working time is 38.5 hours. You will be informed of the exact work schedule on the first day of your internship by the ward manager or their deputy. As a rule, working hours are divided between Monday to Sunday in the early and/or late shift. Early shift starts at approx. 06:00 and ends at approx. 14:30, late shift starts at approx. 13:00 and lasts until approx. 21:30. Please ask the ward manager for the exact duty times on your first day of work or when you introduce yourself. If you have any requests regarding the duty rota, please also discuss these with the ward manager.
No statement can be made regarding possible accommodation in the LMU Klinikum's staff residences. As there is a limited contingent and demand is also high from employees, nursing staff, students of state vocational schools, federal volunteers and other groups of people entitled to apply, rooms are allocated exclusively by the Staff Council according to availability and priority. We ask for your understanding that it is unfortunately not possible to provide binding information on the availability of accommodation.
