Data Usage Notice

We will handle your personal data confidentially. It will only be used to contact you by e-mail, telephone and/or in writing and to schedule and prepare for a possible treatment appointment. Your data will be adequately protected against third-party access by the LMU Hospital and processed pursuant to the provisions of the relevant data protection laws (in particular the GDPR and the Bavarian Data Protection Act). The provision of your personal data, especially data relating to your health, is voluntary. If necessary, your enquiry will be forwarded to the responsible departments or persons within the Ludwig Maximilian University Hospital Munich and to the external billing companies we have contracted for the purpose of preparing a cost estimate. In this context, non-medical staff at the hospital may become aware of the information you have disclosed. It will not be passed on or transmitted to third parties outside the hospital. Your data will be deleted after six months at the latest if a treatment appointment does not materialise. Stored personal data will be deleted if you revoke your consent to storage, if knowledge of the data is no longer required to fulfil the purpose for which it was stored or if storage is not permitted for other legal reasons. Data for billing and accounting purposes is not affected by a deletion request. When a treatment appointment is made, your data will be added to your patient file and then be deleted in accordance with existing legal provisions after 30 years at the latest. You can revoke your authorisation for the purpose-related processing and use of the data in writing or text form without giving reasons at any time. Your stored data will then be deleted immediately according to legal regulations. The relevant information relating to your enquiry will be sent or forwarded without any health data to the e-mail address provided in unencrypted form. This process represents a risk under data protection law. Requested patient and personal application documents will only be sent by post to a reasonable extent if you have provided your postal address.
