Information on the collection and processing of personal data as part of your application to the University Hospital of Munich
Dear applicant,
Thank you for your application and the interest you have shown in the University Hospital of Munich. The University Hospital of Munich is a traditional and at the same time innovative employer with an exciting variety of employment areas.
As part of the application process, it is necessary for us to collect and process personal data. Processing means storing, modifying, transmitting, blocking and deleting data. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) obliges us to inform you about the collection and processing of your personal data in the context of your application. We would like to fulfill this obligation below.

The Munich University Hospital (KUM), an institution under public law, represented by the Medical Director and the Commercial Director, is responsible for data processing within the meaning of the GDPR .

3. for what purposes is your data collected and processed?
Data is collected and processed exclusively in order to process and review your application as part of the application process. For this purpose, we store all the data you provide to us as part of your application.
We use this data to check whether you can be invited to an interview as part of the selection process. Then, in the case of generally suitable applicants, we collect certain other personal data that is essential for the selection decision. If you are considered for employment , you will be informed separately about the personal data to be collected as part of the recruitment process.
The legal basis for data collection and data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 letter b GDPR, Art. 9 para. 2 letters b and h GDPR, Art. 88 para. 1 GDPR, Art. 8 para. 1 sentence 1 no. 2 and 3 BayDSG.
4 Who processes your data at KUM?
Insofar as your personal data is processed and stored electronically, the technical operation of our data processing systems is carried out by the hospital's computer centers.
5 How long will your data be stored?
The personal data obtained during the application process will bedestroyed in the event of an unsuccessful application or if the application is withdrawn six months after notification of rejection or withdrawal. The data must be stored for this period for legal reasons inthe event of any legal action (in particular any assertion of claims under the General Equal Opportunities Act).
If you are hired, you will be informed separately about the regulations then applicable to the handling of your personal data, in particular with regard to the creation of personnel files, see already under no. 3. In this case,the personal data obtainedduring the application process will also be stored for longer.
6. right to information, correction, deletion, etc.
You are entitled to so-called data subject rights, i.e. rights that you can exercise against KUM as a data subject in individual cases:
- If your personal data is processed, you have the right to obtain information about the personal data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- If incorrect personal data is processed, you have the right to rectificationto rectification (Art. 16 GDPR).
- If the respective requirements are met, you can request the erasure or restriction of processing and object to the processing (Art. 17, 18 GDPR).processing (Art. 17, 18 and 21 para. 1 GDPR).
