In the book"Global Women's Health", the editors and their co-authors discuss medical issues in a global world and its very different conditions. How do German standards compare with global conditions? What is important in the care of women - what is less important, which standards apply universally, where are there sensible regional variations?

The book also deals with general medical concepts and global statistics, family planning worldwide, women's health in the face of climate change, population development, food shortages and global pandemics, the occurrence of pre-eclampsia, birth management, birth injuries and caesarean sections, treatment options for gynaecological cancers and palliative care options. Further chapters deal with the medicine of migrants, the topic of female genital mutilation (FGM), tropical diseases and infections in connection with pregnancy and childbirth.

Written in clear and understandable language, the book is aimed at gynecologists, obstetricians, midwives and nurses working in humanitarian aid as well as anyone interested in the future development of global medicine.
