Teaching - Teaching & Training Unit (T&TU)

The Teaching and Training Unit (T&TU) is the department for teaching and training at the Tropical Institute. Medical students and doctors can take further education courses here, such as the Diploma in Tropical Medicine and International Health (DTMIH) or the Global Health elective. T&TU also offers a Master of Science and a PhD program in International Health.

With its activities, the Teaching & Training Unit of the Tropical Institute represents the focus areas "Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine" and "Humanitarian Aid" of the Center for International Health (CIHLMU). It also makes a central contribution to capacity building, local structural and competence development with the aim of effective health promotion.

The Center for International Health (LMULMU) is located at the LMU Klinikum München. Together with LMU Munich, LMU Klinikum München and academic and healthcare institutions worldwide, CIHLMU has been promoting international cooperation in the field of medical education and research since 2009.

The vision and overarching goal of the CIHLMU is to empower healthcare professionals. With this vision, the CIH strives to address health-related challenges through capacity building in education and research. With the OH-TARGET (One Health Training and ReseARch Global NETwork) project,  CIHLMU 's vision has expanded to include a more participatory and interdisciplinary approach to improving global health conditions.
