Dr. Linda Sanftenberg is a new member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the German Society for Travel Medicine (DFR)
The German Society for Travel Medicine (DFR) was founded in 1997 and later became a non-profit association, which currently has 1059 members (as of 01.2023). The DFR is advised and supported by a scientific advisory board, to which our colleague Dr. Linda Sanftenberg has recently joined. The honorary members of the scientific advisory board come from a wide variety of fields, such as general medicine, tropical medicine and infectiology, public health, maritime medicine and sports medicine.
The aim of the DFR is to improve travel medicine advice and care for travelers by
- further development of quality standards for travel medicine advice and assistance for travelers
- stronger integration of travel medicine content into the existing basic, further and advanced training of doctors and medical assistants
- Further development of a staged travel medicine training concept for doctors with the possibility of certification
- Anchoring travel medicine content in research and teaching
- Cooperation with scientific institutions on research projects relevant to travel medicine
