Closing event 'Doctor and Entrepreneur' in the summer semester 2022

On 27.07.2022, the final event of the elective course 'Doctor and Entrepreneur' for the summer semester 2022 took place, with a high-ranking political visitor from the Bavarian State Parliament in attendance.

The 'Doctor and Entrepreneur' course prepares interested medical students for the professional economic, legal and ethical challenges of entrepreneurial activity as a doctor in private practice under the guidance of experienced experts from business and practice (Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, bank, tax, medical law, marketing, established colleague, medical ethicist).

In small groups, they develop a complete concept for a medical practice over the course of the seminar. As in every semester, the business plans developed were presented at the final event. The high level of motivation shown by the eleven participating medical students over the 14 seminar dates deserves special mention.

A highlight of the event was also the visit of Bernhard Seidenath, Chairman and Spokesman of the Committee for Health and Care in the Bavarian State Parliament, who gave interesting insights as a keynote speaker on current health topics, such as the roles and tasks of medical care in connection with the attractiveness of nursing professions and ways to reduce their workload.

The elective 'Doctor and Entrepreneur' will also be offered via the Institute of General Practice in the coming winter semester 2022/23, and the organizers are once again looking forward to a lively participation!
