"Frontrunner" in POLAR research
As part of the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII), German university hospitals are working together with numerous partners to establish a nationwide infrastructure to make data from routine care usable for medical research and care. To this end, so-called data integration centers are being set up at the university medical sites.
At LMU University Hospital, the Center for Medical Data Integration and Analysis (MeDICLMU) is responsible for setting up and implementing the Data Integration Center (DIZ). In addition, MeDICLMU is involved in so-called use cases such as the cross-consortia use case POLAR (POLypharmacy, Drug Interactions and Risks).
MeDICLMU has now been named a "frontrunner" by the POLAR project, as DIZ München is already very advanced in many aspects. Dr. Fady Albashiti (Managing Director of MeDICLMU) sees this as a positive development in terms of the visibility of the LMU Clinic in this cross-consortium use case and a confirmation of the MeDICLMU strategy. He would like to drive this positive development forward and is counting on the continued good cooperation with all project participants, including Prof. Dreischulte and his team from the Institute of General Medicine.
