Habilitation lecture by Dr. Linda Sanftenberg - congratulations on the successful completion!
On Tuesday, February 18, our colleague Dr. Linda Sanftenberg gave her habilitation lecture entitled "Strategies for increasing vaccination rates against seasonal influenza and Covid-19 in adults with risk factors in primary care - an implementation science perspective" in front of the members of her specialist mentorate (Prof. Gensichen, Prof. Dreischulte and Prof. Nowak) and numerous other listeners in the large lecture hall of the Medical Clinic in Ziemssenstraße.
In her presentation, she gave an impressive tour of the milestones of her 10 years of research work at the Institute of General Medicine, which has resulted in 85 publications to date - particularly in the field of vaccination medicine. Using selected studies as examples, she highlighted the factors that influence patients' vaccination decisions and the strategies that can be derived from them to increase vaccination rates. According to Linda Sanftenberg, it is very important to strengthen patients' trust and appeal to their social responsibility. Another important lever is to expand vaccination communication skills, particularly among medical colleagues, but also to increasingly involve non-medical staff and (caring) relatives - especially for patients with risk factors.
The fact that the lecture was met with great interest by the audience was demonstrated by the numerous questions following the lecture, which our habilitation candidate also answered with great aplomb. Afterwards, of course, there was a small celebration at the institute to round off this special day in style.
Congratulations once again from all of us on this great success, dear Linda! We are proud of you! 😊
