MUNICH, 29.09.2021
Inaugural lecture by Prof. Dr. Tobias Dreischulte
In the festive setting of the "Day of General Practice 2021", Prof. Dr. Dreischulte gave his inaugural lecture on the topic of 'Medication safety in outpatient care' in front of numerous invited guests in the large lecture hall of the Physiology Department of the LMU Clinic after a laudatory speech by Prof. Dr. Gensichen. In his lecture, he impressively described the significance of multimorbidity and polypharmacy as well as the associated risks in an ageing population. Using selected studies with a particular focus on outpatient care, he gave the audience an interesting insight into his previous research work. This also took place over ten years in Scotland, where he was able to gain valuable experience of the local healthcare system. Since February 2019, the Professor of Clinical Health Services Research has enriched the Institute of General Practice with an additional focus on "Pharmacotherapy" and is working with his own team on projects including pharmacoepidemiological issues and interprofessional collaboration between doctors and pharmacists.
After the lecture, there was an opportunity to raise a glass with the guests before the successful start continued with a wide range of lectures and workshops that the Day of General Practice had in store for the numerous participants, and
we would like to thank everyone involved for an all-round successful day!
