"Mental health in primary care"
"Mental Health in Primary Care" is an interactive course that takes place in four face-to-face sessions spread over one semester and is characterized by a high level of application in small groups (5-10 participants). After a theoretical introduction, students are introduced to a psychological approach through exercises, role plays and case discussions in order to gain a better understanding of how to conduct interviews and understand cases of mental illness in general practice. Therapeutic elements such as psychoeducation, exercises for crisis management, dealing with suicidal tendencies and skills for stress, depression and anxiety are tried out together and can also be a helpful extension for dealing with your own stressful challenges. Participants should be prepared to actively participate in the exercises. Current research on the topic of mental health in primary care will also be discussed. Participants are encouraged to develop their own research questions and to consider a study for this purpose, What are the pitfalls? It is important not to lose sight of the patient's perspective in the overall view. Proof of performance: presentation

Pharmacotherapy in practice - joint processing of case studies by medical students and pharmacists in practical training
The primary aim of the seminar is to learn and practice a systematic approach to identifying drug therapy risks (in terms of safety and/or effectiveness) and their management. In addition, cooperation between trainee doctors and pharmacists is to be promoted. The course gives medical students and pharmacists in their internship the opportunity to make better use of the expertise of the other profession and to better assess their points of view. A basic knowledge of pharmacology should be available, further knowledge is taught in the seminar through exercises.
Participants will work on individual case studies in mixed groups. The focus will be on pharmacotherapy, medication management and drug therapy safety. Aspects of particular interest here are the choice of the right drug, drug interactions and the recognition and classification of adverse drug reactions. At the last seminar date, participants will develop an interprofessional concept for improving pharmacotherapy in outpatient care.
The seminar will not take place in the coming winter semester 2024/25.
