The Primary Health Care Foundation traditionally organizes the Hufeland Lecture at the DEGAM Congress. This year's prize went to the Germanic medievalist Prof. Dr. Peter Strohschneider. He was Chairman of the German Council of Science and Humanities and President of the German Research Foundation.

For his honorary lecture, he posed the question: "Crisis of evidence?" Opposition to vaccination, conspiracy theories, fake news, climate change denial, etc. - In social disputes, issues that should actually be able to be clarified objectively are contested. Scientific evidence and everyday certainty do not have to coincide. What if, for example, the assessments of experts and laypeople contradict each other in medical contact with patients or in scientific policy advice?
