Launch of the Covid-19 monitor - take part now!
Effects of the Covid-19 pandemic in Bavarian outpatient care
The coronavirus pandemic has had a major impact on individuals, society and its care structures since spring 2020. In particular, people suffering from Covid-19 and those in need of care, their family caregivers and medical and nursing professionals are in direct contact with the pandemic. Limited resources, isolation, stigmatization and experiences of death or loss must be overcome and have an impact on those affected. The Bavarian Outpatient Covid-19 Monitor was launched on March 1, 2021 in order to gain evidence-based insights into stress and resources, factors for physical and mental well-being, long-term consequences of Covid-19 disease, necessary structures and future prospects.
The Institutes of General Medicine at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU), Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU) and Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), together with LMU Sociology, LMU Tropical Medicine and Nursing Science at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences Munich, were commissioned to investigate the outpatient care sector and provide important findings for decision-makers in society and politics. This should also make the role of nursing staff, family carers and GPs more visible. The State Ministry of Health and Care supports and promotes this research project.
