Our clinic's general outpatient cardiology department serves as a point of contact for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with cardiac disease of various causes as well as for the further clarification of symptomatic patients without a confirmed diagnosis. Our clinic also has various specialist outpatient clinics:
At the Grosshadern campus, the clinic has 110 inpatient beds including 9 intensive care beds and 12 intermediate care beds. The clinic has 19 inpatient beds at the Innenstadt campus. Wards F3 and F4 (general wards), F2a (intensive care unit), F0 (intermediate care and chest pain unit), F22 (private ward) and M2a (inner city campus) treat diseases from the entire field of internal medicine with a focus on cardiological diseases. Inpatients are referred by their general practitioner or specialist.
With the Heart Valve Centre, our clinic specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of heart valve diseases. We also treat complex cases of diseases of the aortic valve, mitral valve and tricuspid valve. The basis for successful treatment is comprehensive and patient-oriented diagnostics. In addition to the most modern diagnostics available, the Heart Valve Center at LMU Klinikum offers treatment using minimally invasive repair techniques. Our center is a national leader in this field. In addition to acute treatment, the LMU Heart Valve Center also offers a structured aftercare program and, with its outpatient clinic, serves as an interface between practicing cardiologists and maximum inpatient care.
Optimal diagnostics and therapy for athletes requires closely coordinated interdisciplinary cooperation, which we practice in our Interdisciplinary Center for Sports Medicine. The core of our center is the sports orthopaedic and sports cardiological care of professional athletes, amateur athletes as well as the care of patients with pre-existing conditions. Our services are rounded off by our cooperation with every department of the LMU Clinic.
