LMU physicians receive Franz Maximilian Groedel Research Award 2020

Dr. Ulrich Grabmaier and Dr. Ludwig Weckbach (both Medical Clinic I) were awarded the Franz Maximilian Groedel Research Prize 2020 by the German Society of Cardiology.

The prize was awarded for the paper Midkine drives cardiac inflammation by promoting neutrophil trafficking and NETosis in myocarditis, which was published in the Journal of Experimental Medicine in 2019.

The Franz Maximilian Groedel Research Prize is awarded to theoretical and clinical scientists whose scientific work deals with questions of cardiovascular research. The prize is endowed with 5,000 euros.
